Olympic 800m gold medallist Keely Hodgkinson, 24, reportedly enjoyed a string of secret dates with Love Island star Casey O'Gorman, 29. According to insiders, the pair exchanged 'flirty messages' and experienced 'real sexual chemistry' during their time together. However, any hopes of a long-term romance quickly fizzled out as they realised their lifestyles were too different.
Details of the Brief Romance
A source told The Sun: 'Casey has known who Keely is for years. He thinks she's very attractive and talented, he sees himself as a bit of a runner, obviously not on her level but enough for him to chat about it with her. Some of her Insta pics caught his eye and they started swapping flirty DMs last year, she was really flattered by the attention – Casey really has the gift of the gab.'
The insider added that Casey wasted no time in asking her out, and they went on several dates. 'They got on really well and there was real sexual chemistry but they lead very different lives and it was never going to work long term.'
Friendship Remains
Despite the romantic spark fading, the pair have remained friends. The source noted that Casey continues to 'show his appreciation' by liking her Instagram pictures. The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Keely and Casey for comment.
Casey O'Gorman's Love Island Journey
Casey is best known for his multiple appearances on Love Island. He first appeared on the show in 2023, and later starred in Love Island: All Stars series one and two. He won the second series with Gabby Allen, but they split three months later. In a joint statement at the time, their representatives said: 'After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically. This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other.'
Keely Hodgkinson's Career Decisions
Keely revealed in March that she will not participate in this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The runner cited a desire to avoid burnout, as the event falls just a week before the European Championships in Birmingham. She stated: 'I'm currently not going to be competing. I love competing in front of a home crowd but it is such a busy year with Europeans and the world indoors. I've done that many championships before in a year - and it is a lot. So I just had to decide on which one was best for me. But I definitely will be supporting and enjoying it as well.'
Keely is currently a strong favourite to win her first world indoor title in Poland later this month, as she aims for a hat-trick of continental crowns.
