Bella Hadid Returns to Victoria's Secret Runway After Lyme Disease Battle

Bella Hadid made a striking return to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night, just weeks after being hospitalised for Lyme disease. The 29-year-old model wore two outfits, including a red lingerie look with a voluminous train and a glittering ensemble with floral angel wings.

In late September, Hadid's mother, Yolanda Hadid, shared images of Bella in hospital with an oxygen machine and IV. Yolanda, who also has Lyme disease, described her daughter as a 'survivor' and 'badass Warrior' after a month of treatment. Two weeks later, Bella walked the Saint Laurent show in Paris.

Bella is among several celebrities speaking openly about Lyme disease. Singer Justin Timberlake revealed his diagnosis in July 2025, saying it caused 'nerve pain' and 'crazy fatigue' during his tour. Comedian Miranda Hart also disclosed her battle last October, describing being 'bedbound and housebound' with fatigue.

Lyme disease is rare in the UK, with about 1,500 confirmed cases annually. It is transmitted by infected blacklegged ticks and often starts with a 'bullseye' rash and flu-like symptoms. Long-term effects, occurring in 5-10% of cases, can include arthritis, chronic pain, and brain inflammation.

Other celebrities who have shared their Lyme disease diagnoses include Justin Bieber, who revealed his in 2020, and Riley Keogh.
