Iggy Azalea Stays Home on New Year's Eve Over COVID Fears

Iggy Azalea has revealed she chose to stay home on New Year's Eve due to concerns about catching COVID-19. The 31-year-old rapper, who has a 20-month-old son named Onyx with ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti, shared her decision on Twitter, writing: 'I dunnooooooo I’d rather stay at home and not get covid but good luck with nye and all that if you’re headed out.'

When a follower mentioned they were attending a party after getting tested, Iggy advised wearing a mask, noting that a negative test does not guarantee safety. 'Probably wear a mask too because that doesn’t mean one of you can’t still have it and pass it along. You have to have a negative test to go to concerts… ppl still get covid there. Just saying!' she wrote.

The Australian-born star, who has received her booster jab, expressed no regrets about her decision. 'So glad I stayed home tonight. Absolutely love knowing I’m waking up covid free tmrw,' she posted. She also voiced concern for friends who went out mask-less, calling it 'big yikeessss.'
