Graham Norton has admitted he is too “lazy” to undergo cosmetic surgery, despite considering tweakments. The broadcaster, who turned 60 in April, remains busier than ever in 2024 with his talk show, Virgin Radio slot, and new TV projects including ITV’s Wheel of Fortune and Prime Video’s Laugh Out Loud Ireland.
Asked by The Standard if he feels pressure to maintain a youthful image in an industry that favours youth, Norton laughed: “That ship sailed for me before I even got on telly.” He acknowledged the industry’s tough standards, especially for women, but said he is unfazed by critics. “If people say anything about how I look I don’t care,” he added.
Norton joked that while he thinks about cosmetic procedures “all the time”, laziness wins out over vanity. He also discussed his role hosting BBC’s Eurovision Song Contest coverage this year, praising UK entrant Olly Alexander for “really going for it”. Norton said Alexander’s experience as a pop star who has played big arenas will help the UK’s chances of ending a 27-year dry spell.
