Foo Fighters Confirm Major Australian Stadium Tour for November
The Foo Fighters have officially announced their return to Australia this year, following a highly praised one-off performance in Tasmania last month. The iconic US rock band will embark on a seven-date stadium tour across the country in November as a key segment of their global Take Cover Tour. This marks the first national tour for frontman Dave Grohl and the celebrated band in Australia since 2023, promising an electrifying experience for fans Down Under.
Comprehensive Tour Schedule Across Australia
The Australian leg of the tour will kick off in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on November 5, setting the stage for a series of high-energy performances. The band will then travel to Townsville for a show at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on November 7, followed by a performance at Sydney's Accor Stadium on November 10. Next, they will head to Newcastle for a gig at McDonald Jones Stadium on November 12, before moving to Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on November 14. Adelaide fans will have their chance to witness the band's renowned live act at Coopers Stadium on November 17, with the tour wrapping up at Perth's HBF Park on January 25, 2027.
New Zealand Shows and Global Tour Expansion
In addition to the Australian dates, the Foo Fighters will perform two shows across the Tasman Sea in New Zealand. The first concert is scheduled for Christchurch's Orangetheory Stadium on January 19, with a final show at Western Springs Stadium in Auckland on January 22. This tour is part of a broader global itinerary that began in May, featuring performances in the United States, Norway, Sweden, Poland, France, and the Netherlands. Fans in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, and Canada will also have opportunities to see the chart-topping band before they return to the US for a national tour in August.
Support Acts and Local Talent Involvement
Known for their strong support of Australian music, the Foo Fighters have curated a lineup of local support acts to enhance the tour experience. Brisbane band Full Flower Moon Band and Victorian rockers Belair Lip Bombs have been confirmed as support acts, alongside Sydney's all-female band The Bouys. Reports indicate that the band aims to recruit additional local bands in each city, further showcasing Australia's vibrant music scene and fostering community engagement.
Ticket Sales and Fan Anticipation
Pre-sale tickets for the Foo Fighters Take Cover Australian Tour will be available starting February 20 for Telstra Plus members, with Frontier Members gaining access from February 23. General ticket sales will commence at staggered times from February 25. The announcement follows months of anticipation, sparked by a teaser in December that featured a Foo Fighters billboard in Hobart, Tasmania, accompanied by cryptic social media posts hinting at the tour. This news has generated significant excitement among Australian fans, who are eagerly awaiting the chance to secure tickets for these highly anticipated stadium shows.
