Ferne McCann Plans Baby at 40, Opens Up About Faith

Ferne McCann has opened up about her future family plans with fiancé Lorri Haines, revealing she is considering having another baby in around five years, ideally when she turns 40. The 35-year-old former TOWIE star is already mother to daughters Sunday, eight, and Finty, who will turn three in July.

Broody Feelings and Family Plans

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Ferne admitted she still feels broody. 'If you were to ask me, like, even two months ago, I'd be like, "Oh, I'm really happy with my two." I just don't think you can plan your life. You can have an idea, and you can just go along with the plan, but you never know what's going to happen. I feel very lucky that I've got two healthy girls. I'm 36 this year, like maybe. But I've just got rid of all my baby bits,' she shared.

Ferne, who recently showcased a two-stone weight loss transformation, explained she achieved it through simple nutrition, a meal replacement shake, drinking plenty of water, staying in a calorie deficit, hitting protein targets, daily movement, and accountability. 'It wasn't anything drastic,' she said.

Age Gap and Breastfeeding Emotions

Ferne expressed her preference for a six-year age gap between children, similar to the spacing between Sunday and Finty. 'Sunday is in school, and then Finty's almost had this first child experience, because me and Lorri are around. So maybe I'll leave it another five or six years, when I'm 40. That could be quite cool,' she said.

The star became emotional discussing the end of breastfeeding her youngest daughter. 'I'm holding back the tears, because obviously this is an emotional call. So it's been a good few months now [she's finished breastfeeding], but hormones! And when I think, "Oh, this is going to be the last time," it makes me broody. It makes me emotional. It's such a close bond you have with your babies,' she said.

Relationship and Faith

Ferne and Lorri began dating in 2021 and got engaged a year later. Despite split rumours, Ferne insists they never actually separated, though both have considered it. 'I would be lying if I said there weren't moments that it had both crossed our mind. And that's just me being completely honest, as honest as I probably have been in a long time in an interview,' she candidly admitted.

She credits her newfound faith with saving their relationship. 'I really believe that actually welcoming God into our lives and into our relationship, and actually working on the relationship and just being more honest with each other… don't get me wrong, there are still times when I think he's really frustrating, like all relationships. But I strongly believe that having that relationship with God, and strengthening my faith with God and Jesus Christ, and really exploring that, has not only saved our relationship, but has made it even better than it was when I first met him,' said Ferne.
