Oasis have expressed shock and sadness after a man fell to his death at Wembley Stadium during their Saturday night concert. The man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene after being found with injuries consistent with a fall from the upper tier.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers on duty responded to the incident at 10.19pm. A spokesperson said the stadium was 'busy' and it was likely many people witnessed the fall or may have captured it on mobile phone video. The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
In a statement, Oasis said: 'We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.' During their Sunday night gig, the band dedicated the song 'Live Forever' to those who could not be there.
A Wembley Stadium spokesperson confirmed that medics, London Ambulance Service, and police attended to the concertgoer, but despite their efforts, he sadly died. The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. One fan who witnessed paramedics trying to revive him described the scene as 'horrific'.
The Oasis reunion tour, featuring Liam and Noel Gallagher for the first time in 16 years, includes seven shows at Wembley and five in Manchester, followed by international dates in the US, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and South America.
