Country singer Drake White and his wife, Alex, have announced the death of their baby daughter, Della Elizabeth, who was born prematurely at 29 weeks and lived for just 20 minutes on August 31.
In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, the couple shared their grief, with Alex writing: 'We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her. The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time.' She added that Della weighed three pounds and three and a half ounces at birth.
The post included a black-and-white photo of Alex holding the baby, with Drake by her side. The couple also shared Bible verses, including Psalm 34:18: 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.'
Drake and Alex, who have a two-year-old son named Hank, had announced the pregnancy in May, revealing it was conceived through IVF. Drake previously spoke about their health struggles, including his stroke on stage and Alex's type 1 diabetes and autoimmune disorder.
