DJ Kavinsky dies at 50, known for Nightcall

French musician Vincent Belorgey, better known as DJ Kavinsky, has died at the age of 50 at his home in Paris.

Musical legacy

The electropop legend was best known for his song Nightcall, which featured as the title track for the 2011 film Drive, starring Ryan Gosling.

He performed the track at the 2024 Olympic Games closing ceremony, alongside Belgian singer Angèle.

Investigation underway

'An inquiry into the cause of death has been opened to determine the circumstances of the death,' the Paris prosecutor's office has said.

They added that first responders had found 'no suspicious elements at the scene'.
