D Double E stuns with surprise set at London Halloween bash

Grime legend D Double E surprised partygoers with a special performance at BACARDÍ's Halloween bash at The Cross in King's Cross, London, on Thursday (October 22). The East London MC treated guests to a set packed with old-school grime anthems from the noughties.

A Night of Noughties Nostalgia

The rapper, who rose to prominence during grime's emergence in the early 2000s, had the crowd singing along to tracks including Street Fighter Riddim, Bluku! Bluku! and Bad 2 Tha Bone. The venue erupted as the familiar sounds filled the room.

Reflecting on the performance, D Double E said: "The energy in there was mad! It really felt like stepping back into the 00s, when everyone was out for the music, the vibes and just having a good time. Seeing everyone going crazy when I dropped some of my old-school tracks was a proper highlight!"

SHY FX Headlines with High-Energy Set

D Double E wasn't the only music icon on the bill, as drum and bass legend SHY FX headlined the event. The producer delivered a high-energy set featuring his UK Top 10 hit Shake Ur Body, alongside MC Rage on the mic.

DJs Jossy Mitsu and Gracie Convert also kept the tunes coming as guests embraced the party's noughties dress code. From baggy cargos and double denim to velour tracksuits and Y2K-inspired outfits, revellers recreated the era's iconic clubbing style.

BACARDÍ Brings Back Ghost Bottle

The event saw BACARDÍ take over The Cross for a one-night-only celebration of the decade's music, fashion and nightlife. The venue played a major role in London's club scene during the 00s, making it a fitting setting for the throwback bash.

The party also marked the return of BACARDÍ's limited-edition glow-in-the-dark ghost bottle for Halloween. Filled with BACARDÍ Carta Blanca Rum, the bottle features a ghost design that illuminates in the dark and is available in major UK supermarkets while stocks last. Prices start at £19 for a 70cl bottle, while the 1L version has a recommended retail price of £25.
