Cruz Beckham, the 20-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, has officially launched his music career by announcing a one-off London show with his band, The Breakers. The announcement follows 15 unannounced gigs across the UK.
In an Instagram post, Beckham shared a montage of his performances, writing: "15 unannounced shows around the UK. Now it may be time to officially invite you to one night of fairly decent music." He confirmed the band will play one night in London, with a formal announcement scheduled for Monday.
Beckham's girlfriend, Brazilian-German songwriter Jackie Apostel, cheered him on, commenting, "play the album play the albummmmmmm." Apostel has reportedly helped Beckham with his songwriting. His debut double single EP, Optics / Lick The Toad, features explicit lyrics, with Optics referencing drugs and sex, while Lick The Toad focuses on nature.
Beckham has also worked with The Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard. A private family gig saw the Beckhams hire a venue in Notting Hill, where David Beckham shared a clip of Cruz performing, writing, "We r so proud of you mate." The family, including sister Harper, attended the intimate show.
Cruz's first music venture was in 2016 with the charity single "If Every Day Was Christmas" for Global's Make Some Noise.
