After the rejection, the man suggested they take a break from seeing each other to avoid awkwardness. Nolan said she felt devastated and feared their friendship was ruined for good.
In her agony aunt column for the Daily Mirror, Nolan advised a reader in a similar situation to take time apart and move on. She wrote: 'You deserve more than to be with someone who doesn’t love you back. You deserve a committed, fulfilling relationship.'
Nolan's own experience on the show mirrored the advice she gave, as she struggled to come to terms with the rejection. The episode aired on E4 on Tuesday night.
