Supermodel Cindy Crawford has been hailed as the 'greatest of all time' after making a surprise return to the catwalk at the age of 60. The 1990s fashion icon closed the Gucci Cruise 2027 show in Times Square, New York, wearing a dramatic black feathered gown, with her signature glossy waves.
The star-studded event also featured appearances from Paris Hilton and former NFL star Tom Brady, while Kim Kardashian, Mariah Carey and Lewis Hamilton watched from the front row. Fans took to social media to praise Crawford, with one writing: 'I’m still screaming! I love this Cindy!' Another added: 'You’ve been redefining beauty for decades and somehow still look just as iconic.'
Early in her career, agencies told Crawford to remove her facial mole, but she kept it, and it became her defining feature. She rose to fame as part of the elite group of 1990s supermodels, alongside Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington, and appeared in George Michael's 'Freedom! '90' music video and the iconic 1992 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial.
After stepping back from modelling in 2000, Crawford built a business empire including fitness videos, the skincare line Meaningful Beauty and a furniture brand. Her last major catwalk appearance before this was in Paris in 2022. Her daughter, Kaia Gerber, has also followed her into modelling and acting.
