Fans of Celebrity Gogglebox can rejoice as a brand new series of the Channel 4 show is set to air this week. The programme, which first launched almost seven years ago, will see familiar faces return to share their thoughts and reactions on the latest television broadcasts.
The new series kicks off on Friday, June 5, at 9pm on Channel 4. Celebrities will be filmed from the comfort of their own homes, delivering hilarious commentary on the week's best shows. While the official line-up has not been fully confirmed, the Channel 4 TV guide has teased the return of fan favourites including Rylan Clark and his mum Linda, Tom Allen, Mo Gilligan, Vicky Pattison, and Denise van Outen, among others.
Since its inception in 2019, Celebrity Gogglebox has featured a rotating cast of famous armchair critics, such as Shaun Ryder and Mark 'Bez' Berry, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash, Alison Hammond, Lorraine Kelly, and Zoe Ball. The Mirror has contacted Channel 4 for further details on the upcoming series.
Speaking previously on This Morning, Rylan Clark admitted that he and his mum have had to ask producers to cut certain remarks made during filming. Linda said: 'When he mucks about, I go, “Please don’t put that bit in.”' Rylan added: 'We’re lucky that the editors clearly like us, because the stuff they’ve had to cut out is career-ending.'
Last year, speculation arose that Shaun Ryder and Bez had quit the show after missing several episodes. However, Shaun later clarified: 'We haven't left or anything like that, no, have we heck. This time there's like seven episodes or something, and we have filmed five or six, but no, we haven't left. We love it.'
