The 23-year-old Grammy winner took to her Instagram Story on Monday, sharing a photo that showcased a dramatically different look during what appeared to be a festive gathering.
A Festive Fashion Moment
The singer reshared a photo originally posted by her friend, musician Lucy Healey, which captured Eilish in a fun and seemingly sexy kitchen setting. She wore a dramatically low-cut, polka-dot top that was tight-fitting and revealing, paired with dark-wash jeans. Her dark brunette hair was pulled back, with a pair of glasses resting on top of her head.
In the image, the 'Birds of a Feather' hitmaker posed with one hand on her hip while holding a baby bottle to her mouth, pretending to sip a clear liquid. She appeared to be wearing little to no makeup, showcasing her natural beauty. Across the top of the post, she shared season's greetings with her 124 million Instagram followers, simply writing: 'happy holidays.'

This holiday party outfit stood in stark contrast to the baggy, street-style clothes and brightly dyed hair for which Eilish is best known. The post comes just days ahead of her 24th birthday on December 18th and follows her recent return to her native Los Angeles, several weeks after concluding her massive 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' world tour.
On the same day, she also paid tribute on her Instagram Story to the late director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, following their tragic deaths, captioning a reposted photo with a single heart emoji.

Eilish has previously been candid about her intentional choice to wear loose-fitting clothes at the beginning of her rapid rise to fame. In a December 2024 interview with Complex, she explained, "I was wearing all these baggy clothes, and it was my style, but at the time, it was how I could feel comfortable in my body and not feel tied to how my body looks."
She added, "I didn't want my body to be part of my outfit. I wanted my outfit to be my outfit, and my body happens to be inside it." This style became so synonymous with her image that by age 16, she felt boxed in by public perception.
Her 2021 'Happier Than Ever' era saw a dramatic shift, as she experimented with bleach blonde hair and a more feminine, old Hollywood bombshell-inspired fashion. She described this as a deliberate act of rebellion. "I couldn't just, like, wear a skirt once. I had to completely reverse everything... I really just did it to prove a point," she told Complex.
Eilish stated that this extreme shift ultimately freed her from that stylistic box. "Now I'm free and I can do anything that I want. And that box is gone," she reflected, noting she now enjoys experimenting with fashion rather than sticking to one look.
The singer remains busy following her record-breaking global tour. A 3D concert film of the tour, directed by James Cameron and titled 'Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)', is set to premiere in theaters in March 2026.
