Bill Leader, who produced Bert Jansch's first, eponymous album, also recorded Jansch's third solo record, Jack Orion (1966). The album was recorded in Leader's flat in St John's Wood, London, with some accounts placing the recording in the hallway.
Folk baroque origins
Leader's earlier recording of Jansch's debut, made in his Camden Square flat in 1964, had already changed folk music. With Jack Orion, Jansch introduced a style that became known as folk baroque, comprising traditional songs and instrumentals conceived in a modern manner.
