Ariana Grande Announces New Album 'Petal' for July Release

Ariana Grande has revealed the title and release date of her eighth studio album, 'Petal', which will arrive on 31 July via Republic Records. The record is executive produced and co-written by Grande and Ilya, the Swedish-Persian producer known for his extensive work with Max Martin.

In the announcement, Grande described the album as 'something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.' Ilya, whose full name is Ilya Salmanzadeh, previously co-produced and co-wrote much of Grande's 2024 album 'Eternal Sunshine' and has also worked on hits for Taylor Swift and Sam Smith.

The album has been widely anticipated, with Grande teasing her time in the studio through photos and announcing a summer tour that kicks off in June. The release follows three years of work on the film 'Wicked' and its sequel, as well as 'Eternal Sunshine' and its 2025 deluxe edition.

While the tour was originally planned around 'Eternal Sunshine', it now seems likely that the new album will feature prominently. Speaking on Amy Poehler's 'Good Hang' podcast last year, Grande suggested the tour could be her last 'for a long time', saying: 'I think that's why I'm doing it because I'm like, "One last hurrah!"'
