American Pie star Thomas Nicholas is set to bring a combined film screening and live music experience to the UK, mixing his acting past with his current music career. The actor, known for playing Kevin Myers in the teen comedy franchise, will perform with the Thomas Nicholas Band during the tour.
A Night of Nostalgia and Rock Music
Nicholas, 46, described the concept as an "American Pie meets emo crossover." He said in the announcement of his UK tour: "American Pie has been part of people's lives for more than 25 years now, and it's crazy how much love there still is for those films."
He added: "I get to meet fans all over the world who grew up watching them, and that's always a lot of fun." The events will include a screening of the movie, storytelling, and a live performance, with Nicholas explaining: "What makes these nights really special is bringing everything together. We get to watch the movie [American Pie], share some stories, have a few laughs and then turn the place into a rock show."
VIP Experience and Tour Dates
The UK shows will offer a VIP experience, allowing fans to meet Nicholas and enjoy an exclusive acoustic set before general admission doors open. Following the film screening, attendees can take part in a live audience Q&A before Nicholas takes the stage with his band.
The tour will visit venues in Coventry, Frome, Torquay and Stockton. A spokesperson for KU Stockton said: "Whether you're a massive American Pie fan, love your pop-punk and emo anthems or just fancy a completely different Friday night out, this is going to be a lot of fun. Events like this don't come around very often in Stockton."
Legacy of American Pie
Released in 1999, American Pie became a global box office phenomenon and one of the most recognisable teen comedies of its era, spawning a successful film franchise. Nicholas starred alongside Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein and Tara Reid.
Tara Reid previously spoke to the Mirror about the cast's bond, saying: "Every time we do a film with them, it's almost like you're going away for sleepaway camp. Everyone gets along really well and it's so much fun with each other. You never forget really who you start off with. So there's a really special bond between all of us on American Pie and that's always gonna be there, for sure."
Nicholas's music career has included recording the song 'My Generation', which appears on the American Reunion soundtrack album.
