Theo James 'bemused' as real brawl breaks out on The Gentlemen set
Theo James bemused as real brawl erupts on The Gentlemen set

Theo James was reportedly left 'totally bemused' when a real-life brawl erupted on the set of The Gentlemen. The Guy Ritchie-helmed Netflix series recently returned for its second series, starring Theo as aristocratic gangster Eddie Halstead.

Real-life scuffle before filming

A source told The Sun: 'Theo and a few others were about to film a fishing scene when suddenly all hell broke loose.'

'Two of the blokes who work on the production started going at it and one of them ended up getting whacked in the face. Everyone was just standing there shocked because it all suddenly erupted out of nowhere.'

The two men were separated, with one having obtained a cut lip in the scuffle. The TV insider added: 'Theo was totally bemused by the entire thing. They are used to violent scenes but it is all acting. No one had expected a bust-up before the cameras started rolling.'

Third series confirmed

The Gentlemen is already confirmed to be returning for a third outing, with shooting already having begun. Creator Guy Ritchie said: 'The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I'm looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.'

This season saw the debut of the mysterious fixer Aisha, played by Celebrity Traitors star Maya Jama. It's expected that Aisha will return for the show's third series, along with its existing cast members… plus a few exciting new additions.

Cast additions and rumours

According to The Sun, Trainspotting and Once Upon A Time star Robert Carlyle will join the cast when it returns. One actor who won't be among the line-up, however, is Meghan Markle, who was heavily rumoured to be among the new additions.

'Meghan though is now out of contention. There was a meeting but it's been decided she won't be part of the cast,' a source claimed. Star Vinnie Jones told the publication: 'I think that's dead and buried. We can honestly say now that it ain't happening, and you'd be a bit of a knob to think the idea was still alive. Plus it would be weird to see her cast in a sex scene — horrifically bad, given, ya know…'

Metro has contacted Netflix and Theo James' representatives for comment on this story. Series One and Two of The Gentlemen are streaming now on Netflix.
