The horror anthology series The Terror has returned for a third season, titled Devil in Silver, and is now available for UK viewers to watch on Sky and the streaming service NOW.
Anthology format and previous seasons
Each season of The Terror focuses on a different storyline. The first season, which premiered in 2018, drew inspiration from real-life incidents combined with supernatural folklore, following a naval vessel through the Arctic as something sinister terrorises the crew.
The second season was set in a prisoner of war facility during World War Two, where a malevolent spirit hunts detainees with no means of escape.
Devil in Silver cast and setting
The third chapter, Devil in Silver, stars Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens as a man from Queens who is wrongly confined to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital and confronts the Devil himself. The instalment was filmed in a former prison.
Actress Judith Light described the series as "Very creepy. Totally creepy."
Availability and critical reception
The series has already broadcast in the US, but UK audiences can now watch all six episodes on Sky. Horror fans can also sign up to the broadcaster's streaming service NOW with an entertainment pass.
Devil in Silver is a hit with critics, currently securing the top rating among all three seasons with a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes. One review declared: "The Devil in Silver tells an unnerving story that depicts a visceral, timely side of terror that is the most disturbing of the anthology series' three seasons."
