Nintendo has announced a new Switch 2 console bundle set to arrive before the end of the year. Launching in plenty of time before Christmas, the bundle includes the latest in a series that earned instant classic status on the Nintendo Wii.
The Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle includes the Nintendo Switch 2 console and a copy of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. The game is the latest after its original title, Wii Sports, launched way back in 2006. Now, 20 years on, we will have a fourth game in the motion-control sports series.
Bundle Details and Pricing
Alongside the release of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, a new console bundle will give gamers a chance to save on the cost of a game and console. According to reports, the fresh Switch 2 bundle will include three months of a Nintendo Switch Online membership, too.
It’ll be the first new bundle to launch after Nintendo introduce a price rise on the Switch 2 system. The base console, without any games, will leap in price by £24 from £395.99 to £419.99.
Release Date and Sports Lineup
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and the console bundle are set for release worldwide on October 22. The game will include a compilation of various sports, much like its predecessors.
Announced during the Nintendo Direct broadcast in June 2026, Switch Sports Resort includes 12 main sports and features the return of Wii Sports classics Bowling, Golf, Boxing and Tennis. Only Baseball isn’t included in the Switch 2 game from the original Wii title. Five of the eight sports featured in the last iteration of the series, Nintendo Switch Sports, also make a comeback.
The only entirely new sport for the 2026 sequel is the unexpected inclusion of Thumb Wrestling. This is set to utilise the unique controls of the Joy-Con 2, which can be used in mouse mode for sports like Skateboarding.
US Pricing and UK Expectations
The bundle isn't yet available for pre-order in the UK, so pricing is to be confirmed, but a statement from Nintendo of America reads: "On October 22, the newest entry in the Nintendo Switch Sports series, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.
"On the same day, customers can purchase the Nintendo Switch 2 + Nintendo Switch Sports Resort Bundle – which includes a Nintendo Switch 2 system, a code for a digital version of the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort game and a 3-Month (90-Day) Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership – for the suggested retail price of $529.99, a savings of $27.98."
That translates to £388.72, far below the new price of the Switch 2 console alone. Expect Nintendo to price it up in the UK as a result.
