RAF Flypast Time for Stockport Krazy Races 2026

The RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will perform a flypast over Stockport this Sunday, August 9, as part of the Krazy Races soapbox derby. The aircraft, a Douglas C47 Dakota, is scheduled to appear at approximately 2.45pm, though this is weather permitting and subject to change.

Event Details

Krazy Races, a family-friendly event, returns to Stockport town centre on Sunday, August 9, from 11am to 5pm. This year, 40 teams will compete on a 350m course that winds past St Peter's Square, featuring chicanes, obstacles, and water splashes. The event is free to attend and is one of the UK's largest touring soapbox derbies, held in partnership with Totally Stockport BID and Stockport Council.

New Attractions

New for 2026, the event includes a classic car showcase from the Italian Auto Moto Club and the RAF flypast. The Douglas C47 Dakota is a historic military transport aircraft used during World War Two for paradropping operations on D-Day eve, casualty evacuation, and re-supply missions.
