Retro gaming fans can pick up an absolute bargain this week, as Sony continues its massive Ready, Set, Play sale for PlayStation. The sale features deep discounts for games like UFC 6, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Black Myth Wukong, and Diablo 4. That's on top of discounts for indie hits such as Cult of the Lamb, Darkest Dungeon and the superb Abiotic Factor.
Timesplitters Trilogy Discounted
Dig deeper into the hundreds of games featured in the sale and you'll discover a trilogy of classic games from the PS2 era. Indeed, each game in the beloved Timesplitters trilogy is available at a massively discounted price as part of the latest PlayStation sale.
My favourite game in the series - Timesplitters 2 - is reduced to just £1.99, which is less than a cup of coffee.
Gameplay and Features
Playable on PS4 and PS5, Timesplitters 2 is a fast-paced first-person shooter that transports players through time. You'll find yourself in 1990s Siberia, the Wild West, a futuristic version of Tokyo and Aztec Ruins.
Players can choose from over 100 characters, and can participate in four-person split-screen multiplayer deathmatches, giving it unlimited replayability.
Less than £2 for such a beloved and content-heavy game is a deal that shouldn't be missed, so make sure you take advantage of the deal before the sale ends on August 26.
Entire Trilogy for Under £6
If you enjoy the action from Timesplitters 2, then the good news is that the other two games are also heavily discounted. The original Timesplitters and the third game in the series - Timesplitters Future Perfect - are also reduced to just £1.99 each.
This means you can pick up the entire trilogy for less than £6, which is roughly the same price as a pint of beer - depending on the pub.
Other Sale Highlights
If retro games aren't your thing, the latest PlayStation sale has some big discounts on more recent releases. Black Myth Wukong isn't discounted very often, so it's good to see it reduced to £38.49 as part of the sale. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is down to £34.99, Batman Arkham Knight costs £3.99, Crisis Core Final Fantasy Reunion is £25.99 and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is £23.99.
