Oasis fans are desperate for news confirming the band's return to live performances in 2027, and according to sources, they won't have much longer to wait. The Manchester Evening News broke the news last month that the reunited band are eyeing a mammoth residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium in June 2027, as part of a wider tour set to be announced.
Etihad Residency and Knebworth Return
A record-breaking run of nights at the Etihad is being planned, with a potential 10-12 nights in the first announcement, which could be extended depending on demand. It would see them grasp the record from fellow Manchester band Take That as the most gigs staged at the Etihad Stadium in history. The band are also aiming to bust the previous attendance record at Knebworth too, with further gigs being planned there. It has this week been confirmed that Oasis' tour promoters, Manchester's SJM, have secured the necessary permissions to host gigs at the sprawling Knebworth House park indefinitely, adding further fuel to the almighty fire surrounding Oasis Live 2027 dates.
Announcement and Ticket Sale Timeline
Fans are now poised for an announcement from the band themselves, hoping and praying that it will come soon. Many media sites are speculating it could come as soon as August 10 to tie in with the 30th anniversary of Oasis's iconic Knebworth gigs of 1996; however, the Manchester Evening News understands fans will need to wait a little while longer than that. Music industry sources have told the Manchester Evening News the "end of August" is the time the Oasis machine will gear up for the massive announcement. Fans hoping to be in with a chance to secure a ticket should keep their diaries clear and bank balances healthy by the middle week of September, as sources indicate that will be the time for tickets to be released.
It is set to spark an epic scramble for tickets, given the 2025 tour broke all records amid the clamour from millions of fans to be at the live shows across the world.
Manchester Residency Details
As for what gig dates could be announced on a new 2027 tour? It now appears to be an "open secret" among music industry and Etihad Stadium figures that a number of June dates have been boxed off for Liam and Noel to play on the hallowed turf of their beloved Manchester City in an almighty homecoming run. An industry insider has told the Manchester Evening News that the band would be looking to play around three gigs a week during their Manchester residency of up to 12 gigs. There is talk of "Thursday, Friday and Saturday night gigs at the Etihad across June". We have also been told that one luxury city centre hotel has been entirely booked out for the end of May and the whole of June, backing up the suggestion of multiple gigs being staged in the city across the month.
One source said: "It is incredibly exciting times for Manchester. The Etihad residency will be huge not only for Oasis fans, but for the wider hospitality scene in Manchester." So it appears to be a question of when, rather than if, a new tour is set to be announced.
Clues and Speculation
When the reunited brothers Liam and Noel first announced their comeback news and the Oasis Live 25 tour to the world, the first hint was placed with a teaser at the end of fellow Manchester band Blossoms' gig at Wythenshawe Park in August 2024. Now, all eyes will be on this year's series of Wythenshawe Park gigs, which conclude with the Courteeners on Saturday, August 29, and the Prodigy on Sunday, August 30. Courteeners frontman Liam Fray has already said in interview that if Oasis asked the band to support them on a new tour in 2027 it would be "an instant yes". Meanwhile the Prodigy were famously on the bill when Oasis last played Knebworth in 1996. It would also align with the announcements back in 2025 - with the teaser over the August bank holiday weekend leading in to the official tour announcement on August 27, 2024.
If a tour announcement comes at the end of August, it would neatly coincide with the band heading back into the spotlight together for the big world premiere of the new documentary film about the 2025 tour, Don't Look Back in Anger, at the Venice Film Festival. It has now been confirmed that the world premiere will take place on Saturday, September 5 at 9.30pm. Liam and Noel are expected to walk the red carpet in Venice for the screening that weekend, where film-goers and the world's media will get to see the Gallaghers' first joint interview since getting back together for the very first time. The band will then return to the UK for the London premiere of the film on Monday, September 7, before it goes on general cinema release across the UK on September 9.
Liam Gallagher's Teases
Liam himself has been dropping plenty of clues to fans on his official X social media account in recent times about a new tour. When the official Oasis account shared a flashback video marking the anniversary of the band's comeback, Liam's response was telling. It detailed the 5 continents, 41 shows, and 2 million fans who had been a part of the tour. And Liam's response to that post? "We want MORE." When directly asked about our original 12 nights at the Etihad story, Liam responded to a fan to say: "12 I thought it was 10 ffs". Replying to one fan desperately asking when the tour will be announced he said: "You are not the boss we will announce when the time is righteous." But perhaps the biggest clue he dropped was back in October 2025 - in a post that he then swiftly deleted. He shared a cryptic post with Roman numerals MMXXV11. Many at the time took the numbers to mean an announcement was incoming in November 2025 due to the "11" used at the end rather than numerals. But, if taken as read, those numerals actually gave the number "2027" - and could that 11 at the end also be a teaser for 11 dates in Manchester in 2027? Well, only time will tell.
