Nile Rodgers and CHIC returned to Bootle for a second night as the Salt and Tar 2026 festival drew to a close. The legendary American guitarist and CHIC co-founder headlined the final evening of the five-day event, which kicked off on Thursday, August 13, with Billy Ocean.
Final Night Performance
The band, known for tracks including Everybody Dance and Le Freak, took to the stage once again tonight, drawing another huge crowd. Their set included a string of greatest hits, covers of David Bowie and Madonna tracks, and an emotional tribute to Rodgers' former CHIC bandmate, Bernard Edwards.
Fans braved wet weather, with some taking shelter under ponchos as rain began to fall during the evening.
