Netflix has officially renewed its crime thriller Legends for a second season, confirming the future of the Steve Coogan-led drama that debuted in May 2026.
The six-part series, hailed as "Netflix's answer to Slow Horses", follows ordinary customs officers who go undercover to infiltrate drug gangs in 1990s Britain. It is loosely based on real-life undercover operations and draws inspiration from the 2022 memoir of former customs officer Guy Stanton, The Betrayer.
Cast and Creator Reaction
Alongside Steve Coogan, who plays supervisor Don, the series stars Charlotte Ritchie. Creator Neil Forsyth, known for writing The Gold and Guilt, shared his excitement about the renewal.
He said: "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to tell a new story in the fascinating and unique world that Legends offers, and to show just how dangerous, thrilling, and important their work became in the late 1990s."
Production Timeline and Fan Response
Production on season two is scheduled to begin sometime in 2027, meaning the new episodes may not arrive until late 2027 or even early 2028.
