A man has shared a heartwarming story about giving his first-class upgrade to a stranger on a flight, a gesture that led to a friendship spanning more than two decades.
A Kind Decision
The man, who recounted the incident on Reddit, was returning to Florida from Costa Rica after working overseas for several weeks. Tired, he requested an aisle seat from his company to stretch his legs during the flight. However, upon boarding, he found a woman sitting in his seat. She explained she had sprained her ankle and asked if he would mind taking the middle seat, as she was having trouble getting in and out.
He agreed, noting that she needed the aisle seat more than he did. The two struck up a conversation and began learning about each other's lives.
The Upgrade
Half an hour into the flight, a flight attendant approached him with a complimentary upgrade to first class.
