Love Island Bombshell Tommy Murphy: Age, Career, Facts

Love Island's latest episode is set to deliver another dramatic twist with the introduction of two new bombshells. Enter Tommy Murphy, who is about to join the lineup of the ITV2 dating show's summer series, making his surprise entrance tonight (June 10) alongside fellow newcomer, Simba, reports OK!.

Their arrival will coincide with the latest recoupling, leaving three girls partnerless. At this juncture, they will receive a text that reads: "You are now single and vulnerable. Simba and Tommy are on their way to meet you." Simba and Tommy will be tasked with immediately selecting one of the three remaining girls to couple up with. The leftover girl will be instantly dumped.

Who is Love Island Bombshell Tommy Murphy?

Tommy is a builder hailing from Newcastle. The 28-year-old says he is on the hunt for a genuinely nice girl as personality is paramount to him. He admits to having met numerous girls through his work but perhaps struggles with commitment in relationships. The Villa could provide the ideal setting for him to change this pattern.

Despite being identified as a builder by trade, his Instagram feed is brimming with snapshots and experiences from his travels during modelling gigs. These include him looking perfectly at ease showcasing the latest kits of his hometown football club, Newcastle United. It remains unclear whether he has permanently swapped the construction site for photoshoot sets, or if he is balancing both professions.

There are also numerous snaps of him enjoying nights out with mates and partaking in golf games. His social media activity reveals that he is a frequent gym attendee.

Despite only having three girls to choose from, it appears this will not deter him from exploring other possibilities. He confesses: "I'm not going to shy away from going after someone I like. But when I get in the Villa I'll definitely shoot my shot. You're there for a limited time, and it's the perfect setting to meet someone. I couldn't sit there thinking, 'I like her, but I'm too shy to talk to her.' That just wouldn't happen. I'll go from defender to striker, I'm a versatile player!"

The prospect of vying for the same girl as another lad does not seem to faze him. He declares: "I actually like competition. Someone always wants to be the loudest person in the room, and I'm usually somewhere in the mix. I think competition makes things more exciting. You wouldn't want it to be too easy."

Love Island airs Sunday through Friday at 9pm on ITV2 and streaming on ITVX.
