Liam Gallagher has added to speculation about a series of Oasis shows next year by telling his brother online that it's time to announce the tour. On Monday morning (August 24), he wrote on X: "Ffs RKID announce the tour we’re all losing our minds."
Reunion tour aftermath
Last year, Liam and Noel joined forces on stage for the first time in 17 years as they performed across the world for the Oasis Live '25 tour, which included five homecoming shows at Heaton Park. Since the tour finished, which saw the brothers perform onstage with Bonehead, Gem Archer, Paul Arthurs, Andy Bell and Joey Waronker, fans have been speculating about when the next set of shows could take place.
One heavy rumour, backed up by a number of close sources, has suggested the band could be planning a series of shows at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium for next year, with other shows also on the cards.
Fan reactions and denials
Liam has already shot down rumours online that Oasis could perform at Glastonbury next year. At the weekend, he told fans 'it's not happening' as he launched into a sweary response on social media. However, not everything the Burnage singer says on social media should be taken as gospel.
Bonehead himself also responded to Liam's post to ask: "What tour???" While Liam’s social media comment was far from confirmation of any plans, it was enough to get fans excited. One responded: "Morning Liam, YES GET IT ANNOUNCED." Another said: "Come on RKID, do as he says!" One other wrote: "C’MON I can’t cope with the anxiety of getting tickets I need it over with!!"
Documentary on the way
In a follow-up post seemingly referring to the wait for any announcement, Liam also wrote: "There’s only so many wild goose chases I can send people on with out joining them myself and then we’re all surrounded by the mother goose who’s thinking to herself this is all your fault **** OFF." Some fans felt that Liam was also responsible for the anticipation, with one saying: "Liam you are being the goose right now.." Another added: "Are you the father goose?" One other said: "Goose chase Supernova."
It’s going to be a busy month for the Gallagher brothers as an eagerly-anticipated Oasis documentary will arrive at cinemas in September. Following its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Don’t Look Back In Anger will receive a limited run at theatres from September 9. The movie will include Liam and Noel Gallagher's first joint interview since their reunion and will also feature previously-unseen footage from backstage during their tour last year.
