American indie icon Jack White will enforce a strict mobile phone ban at his upcoming Newcastle gig at O2 City Hall on Saturday, August 29. Fans attending the show will be required to place their phones in lockable pouches upon arrival, as part of a venue-wide rule for the performance space.

The City Hall issued a key update to fans ahead of the show, outlining the entry rules. The precise wording of the ban reads: 'No phones allowed in the performance space. An unplugged, real life experience.'
Upon arrival at the venue, staff will be available to help attendees put their phones in lockable pouches, which they keep throughout the night. Fans can unlock their phones at any time by visiting clearly marked Phone Use Areas located in the lobby or on the concourse.
