ITV has released a dramatic first look at its upcoming five-part thriller The Party, starring Luke Evans and Downton Abbey's Tom Cullen. The series is based on the acclaimed novel by Elizabeth Day and is set to air this autumn on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
Plot and Cast
The thriller follows the lifelong friendship between journalist Martin Glimour (Luke Evans) and wealthy politician Ben Fitzmaurice (Tom Cullen). Martin, raised by working-class mum Sylvia (Joanna Scanlan), wins a scholarship to an elite boarding school where he meets Ben, and the pair form an unbreakable bond.
Martin feels a sense of belonging with Ben and his family, remaining loyal to them without question. However, three decades later, things take a drastic turn.

The first-look images show Martin with a concerned expression, his shirt covered in blood, and later in the same clothes speaking to police in a questioning room. Other images include an intense conversation at a bar, Ben waving to a crowd on a platform, and the two stars in their younger school days.
