Rockstar's GTA 6 will require 210GB of storage on PlayStation 5, making it the largest single-player game ever released, according to a PlayStation Store listing.
The open-world title, scheduled to launch on November 19, will be one of the biggest releases in video game history. Pre-orders will allow players to pre-load the game from November 12, 2026, as reported by X account PlayStation Game Size, which regularly reveals backend listings on the PlayStation Store.
Comparison with previous Rockstar titles
At 210GB, GTA 6 is nearly double the size of Rockstar's previous game, Red Dead Redemption 2, which takes up around 111GB on PlayStation 5. GTA 5, meanwhile, is around 96GB on Sony's console.
If accurate, this size makes GTA 6 the biggest single-player game ever. The only games with a larger file size at launch are Activision's Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare 3, at around 220GB and 234GB respectively, but these include Warzone in the Call Of Duty launcher.
Expected size on Xbox and potential day one patch
It is unclear how big GTA 6 will be on Xbox Series X/S, but it is expected to be around the same size, if not slightly more, as Sony's console typically has better data compression.
The 210GB figure does not account for any potential day one patch, so the game may well be even larger by launch day. The massive size is likely indicative of the open world's scope, the level of density in the environments, and the volume of cinematic cut scenes.
