Gary Windass (Mikey North) appears to have sealed his own fate in Coronation Street, as tonight's episode sees him head to the police station to confess his involvement in Theo Silverton's death. The move comes after 18 years on the cobbles, sparking speculation that this could be his exit storyline.
Kit's plan unravels
Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) had been determined to free Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) from prison, where she is held for Theo's murder. Earlier this year, Sarah struck Theo with a metal pipe during a terrifying showdown, and he fell over scaffolding to his death. Sarah called Gary immediately after, and they tried to keep their involvement secret.
While Gary has a history of killing and staying quiet, Sarah eventually confessed, but kept Gary's name out of it. However, Kit knew Gary was involved and believed that Sarah's only chance at a lighter sentence was to get Gary to confess that he encouraged her not to go to the police, strengthening her self-defence claim.
Bethany's slip and Gary's decision
In tonight's episode, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) let the plan slip to Sarah, who immediately reprimanded Kit on the phone, demanding he drop it in a coded message. Kit reluctantly agreed and told Bethany he would inform Gary of the good news. But it was too late—Gary had already sought legal advice from Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), who warned him that coming clean might be his best option.
Despite Kit's attempts to reach him, Gary had already gone to the station to 'tell the truth'. The question remains: will he confess to save Sarah, or could he also implicate Kit? Viewers will have to wait to see the outcome of Gary's decision.
