The Witcher 3 Remastered Surprise
One reader, going by the name Xane, expressed shock that there was an actual surprise at Opening Night Live this year, with The Witcher 3 remaster. They noted that everything else was 'pretty boring and pointless', and they wished they had tuned in only for the last 15 minutes, but at least that part was good.
Xane, who is among those who haven't forgiven CD Projekt for the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, feels that the free remaster and free expansions are a form of making up for it. They appreciate the generosity, noting that other publishers should remember that being generous goes down well with gamers, especially when it seems like publishers are 'constantly at war with their own fans'.
Gears Of War: E-Day and GTA 6 Leaks
Another reader, St1nger, commented on Gears Of War: E-Day previews, saying they all say what you'd expect from the trailers: 'it’s the same old thing as always and kind of pointless'. They questioned why it was made a prequel, given that side of the timeline is already covered, and suggested it should have been set on another planet with new enemies and heroes.
On the GTA 6 leaker, St1nger expressed pity, describing the situation as 'a car crash in slow motion'. They noted that much of the leaked content is boring, and questioned whether it's worth going to jail for, predicting that's where the leaker will end up.
Turn-Based Strategy and PS5 Boycott
Reader Zeiss commented on the announcement of another big-budget turn-based strategy game, Rainbow Six Tactics, following Star Wars Zero Company. They hope the Star Wars game does well, as it could open things up, possibly even leading to a new XCOM. However, they fear it may be ignored due to poor timing for Star Wars hype.
Regarding the PS5 boycott, reader matc7884 argued that Sony wants to keep its revenue stream profitable, and a significant drop in player numbers could prompt a rethink. However, they doubt the boycott will work due to insufficient participation. They also clarified a misattribution in a previous Reader's Feature.
