Helaena's Death and the Tapestry
In the finale, Helaena (Phia Saban) jumps from a window to her death, fearing she will never escape the castle. Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) discovers her body and, for the first time, notices the tapestry Helaena had been stitching.
The tapestry depicts two images. The first shows a blonde woman falling from a tower resembling the Red Keep, clearly Helaena's own death. The second, more sinister image shows a crowned woman resembling Rhaenyra on the Iron Throne, surrounded by flames, dragons, and reaching hands, with red thread running down her body and pooling like blood.
Fan Theories on the Prophecy
Fans have taken to X to share their interpretations. One fan asked, "What does this scene mean and why was Rhaenyra scared?" Another argued that Helaena stitched the meaning of the dragons' dance: all dragons dying while the throne destroys Rhaenyra.
A different viewer suggested the blood pools signify the throne rejecting Rhaenyra, noting she "trusts dreamers, but in this moment she rejects the warning, choosing instead to shut the window and seal her 'cruel' destiny."
Others see it as a direct warning. One wrote, "Helaena was telling Rhaenyra that she would die under the weight of the crown and kill the dragons in the process."
