EA Sports has confirmed 10 new Icons for Ultimate Team in EA FC 27, with Sergio Aguero and England record scorer Ellen White among the additions. The new batch follows earlier upgrades from Heroes to Icons for players such as Lucio and Yaya Toure.
Aguero and White headline the new Icon class
Aguero, Yaya Toure's former Manchester City teammate, has been heavily hinted at in marketing screenshots issued by EA Sports. The new cohort also includes Ellen White, the former Arsenal and Man City striker who is the Lionesses' record top goal scorer and was involved in their WEURO 2022 triumph.
Two new defenders join the Icons, both synonymous with Real Madrid's dominance of European football over the past two decades: Portuguese centre-back Pepe and his ex-Real partner Raphael Varane. They are the only new defenders added this year.
Five more female legends and Rummenigge complete the line-up
Five more women are included: Japanese playmaker Yuki Nagasato, Canadian goal-getter Christine Sinclair, Brazilian midfielder Formiga, Norwegian star Hege Riise and American winger Tobin Heath. German striker Karl-Heinz Rummenigge completes the line-up, having won two Ballon d'Ors, two European Cups with Bayern Munich and the 1980 EURO with Germany.
All 10 new Icons sit in a pool of 18 total Icon player items available as an early bird bonus for gamers who pre-order the Ultimate or Ultimate Plus Editions of EA FC 27. The items start in game as a 'debut' Icon, upgrading to 'Champion' Icon status later in the game cycle.
PlayStyles for the new Icons
PlayStyles have become a dominant attribute for EA FC players, and the new Icons have had their PlayStyle+ and base PlayStyles confirmed. They are:
