The Daily Star will serve as one of the jurors at this year's The Game Awards, helping to select nominees for the event often described as the Oscars of the video game world.
The outlet joins a panel of around 160 global jurors, including IGN, Variety, Empire, Eurogamer and the Daily Mirror, which will whittle down the games eligible for nomination across a range of categories.
Ceremony set for Los Angeles
The nominated games will compete for the win at a live ceremony in Los Angeles on December 10. Nominees are expected to be announced in mid-November, with public voting beginning around the same time.
Tickets to the live event are now available for purchase on AXS.com.

Background and contenders
Geoff Keighley debuted the awards in 2014 as a re-imagining of the Spike Video Game Awards, which ran on cable television from 2003 to 2013. The event serves as both a celebration of the industry's creations over the past year and a showcase for upcoming titles, merging winners' speeches with big trailer reveals of future games.
A spokesperson for The Game Awards added: “We bring together a diverse group of game developers, game players, and notable names from popular culture to celebrate and advance gaming's position as the most immersive, challenging and inspiring form of entertainment.
“We strive to recognise those who improve the wellbeing of the community and elevate voices that represent the future of the medium.”
Among the titles generating discussion in gaming circles for potential nominations this year are GTA6, Marvel's Wolverine, Resident Evil Requiem and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, though the final nominations ballot has yet to be confirmed.
