Cruz Beckham welcomes dog named after grandmother

Cruz Beckham and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel have introduced a new family member: a labrador named Sandy Jean Beckham, in tribute to his grandmother Sandra Beckham.

The couple shared photographs of the dog on Instagram. In one image, Sandy sat between them on the bed, appearing to smile as Cruz kissed her cheek, while Jackie, wearing under-eye patches, grinned at the camera. Another picture showed the pair looking tired as Sandy gave a cheeky look.

Family tributes and new Instagram account

The caption revealed the dog was named after Cruz's beloved grandmother. His mother, Victoria, commented: "Soooooo sweet!!! We love you Sandy!!!"

Cruz has since created an Instagram account for Sandy, which is two days old and already has over 2,000 followers and six posts. One picture showed Cruz hugging the dog with the caption "Me N Dad". Sandra, the dog's namesake, commented: "Ohh that makes me a great nanny. Soo cute."

Other photos featured family members, including one with "Auntie Harper", who said she already loved the pet "so so much", and another with David Beckham captioned "Grandad is gonna teach me how to bend it like sandy."

Paris Fashion Week backdrop

Sandy's debut comes days after Victoria Beckham became emotional at her Paris Fashion Week show, presented while her estranged son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz were also in the city.

Sources told The Mirror the couple's decision to visit at that time was "cruel". "For a couple who have made clear they want distance from the Beckham family machine, Brooklyn and Nicola could hardly have chosen a more conspicuous week to be in Paris. It feels bordering on cruel to be swanning around the city knowing how important this day is for Victoria," a source said.

Victoria's show at the Conciergerie was attended by David, Cruz, Romeo, and their girlfriends Jackie and Kim Turnbull, as well as Harper, all dressed in Victoria's label. Brooklyn and Nicola attended the MESSIKA show on Thursday night, posing for photographs from the front row.

David appeared to show support from afar by liking an Instagram post by photographer Yehiel Chekroune documenting Brooklyn and Nicola's appearance. Fans noticed the interaction, with one commenting: "David liked this. He loves his kids. Everything's going to be okay."
