Coronation Street fans have again demanded a happy ending for Glenda Shuttleworth as she faces cruel revenge from her friend Todd Grimshaw in upcoming scenes on the ITV soap.
Actress Jodie Prenger plays the much-loved character, who made her cobbles debut in 2022. This week, viewers will see Glenda face an unexpected setback in her search for romance.
Glenda's new romance takes a twist
Spoilers reveal that Glenda spots a woman, Celeste, knocking on the door of No.7 and tells her that Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter are away. Later, Celeste approaches Todd as he locks up the undertakers, explaining she wants to arrange a funeral over a drink.
Celeste and her driver, Fraser, later visit the undertakers to discuss arrangements. In the Rovers, Glenda takes a shine to Fraser and invites him for a drink. Alone with Todd, Celeste reveals the funeral is for herself and she has only six weeks to live.
After planning a Dolly Parton-themed service, she collects Fraser, leaving Glenda thrilled when he gives her his number and agrees to a date. Todd then heads to Canal Street, with Christina insisting on joining him.
Fans plead for Glenda's happiness
Later, Glenda, Mary Taylor, and Christina chide Todd for heavy drinking since returning from Thailand. Glenda warns Todd that if he continues treating friends like dirt, he won't have one left. Upset, when Celeste visits the undertakers and warns Todd that Fraser is gay, Todd forms a plan to get his own back on Glenda.
The storyline has led fans to issue another demand for Glenda to find true love in Weatherfield. @Audz32129841 pleaded: "Please can Glenda have a partner and storyline #Corrie." @RachelnzScott replied: "Yes, I like Glenda. What about Ryan??"
