Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) makes a pivotal decision on Coronation Street as the scheming Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) closes in. After learning that Idris is not her cousin but her uncle, Alya has been determined to keep her distance. However, upcoming scenes see her forced to part with her family restaurant.
Alya's Shocking Discovery
Idris first arrived on the cobbles as a charming property developer, but his dark side soon emerged. He was revealed to be a ruthless slumlord whose negligence led to the black mold that hospitalized Abi Webster's son Alfie. He also manipulated Brody Michaelis to kidnap the previous landlord.
The biggest shock came when Idris dropped a bombshell: he is the affair baby of Sharif, Yasmeen's ex-husband, making him Alya's uncle. This revelation was part of his plan to get his hands on Speed Daal, as he believed Alya might turn against her gran for hiding the truth.
Alya's Decision
Despite her initial resolve, Alya is forced to reconsider when Adam Barlow points out she has missed an important deadline and must choose between her legal career and the restaurant. Alya visits Speed Daal and tells Leanne Battersby she has decided to sell her share of the business.
When Leanne asks who the buyer is, Alya reveals she intends to sell to an old friend of the family. The question remains: is she talking about Idris?
