Chrissie Hynde has said she is “absolutely heartbroken” as she continues to search for her “very dear” dog, who has been missing for more than two weeks.
The Pretenders frontwoman, 74, has made several appeals on social media for the safe return of her five-year-old jack russell cross Nico, last seen in a London park.
Latest plea on Instagram
On Thursday, Hynde shared a photo of her dog on Instagram and wrote: “Can anyone in Great Britain tell me of the whereabouts of my little dog Nico?
“I don’t know if someone has fallen in love with her and is harbouring her in their home?
“Or maybe someone has grabbed her and using her for some malicious purpose…?
“Or maybe she’s been knocked over by a car and is lying in a bush, dying.
“Please, please, please if anyone has seen her at all, can you let me know?”
Previous appeals
In a Wednesday appeal, Hynde described Nico as “very dear to me” and reiterated her heartbreak. She said the dog was last seen near the entrance to Silkstream Park in Colindale just over two weeks ago, and urged followers not to chase her if spotted, as she might be nervous.
She described Nico as having a “tan coat with white markings” and wearing “a black collar with a silver tag” in a previous plea to “help us bring her home”.

Hynde founded the Pretenders in 1978 and serves as lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter. The current line-up includes drummers Martin Chambers and Kris Sonne, and guitarist James Walbourne.
The band are known for hits such as Brass In Pocket, Talk Of The Town and Don’t Get Me Wrong, and have earned multiple Grammy nominations, one UK number one single and a chart-topping album. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
