Brooklyn Beckham accused of 'ragebaiting' Irish over Guinness pour

Brooklyn Beckham has been accused of “ragebaiting” the nation of Ireland with his latest Instagram post. The 27-year-old son of David and Victoria Beckham, known for sharing cooking videos online, posted a picture of a pint of Guinness on his Instagram Story on Thursday that sparked a flurry of critical comments.

Pint pour sparks backlash

The image showed the Irish stout with a muddled brown tinge between the head and body, and the bottom portion of the glass frosted. In the comment section, Brooklyn was accused of sharing the picture as “ragebait for Guinness drinkers.”

“Whoever pulled that so-called pint should be sacked,” one commenter wrote, while another said: “Looks like it hasn't been poured properly or something is wrong with it.” A further comment read: “OMG Nooooooooo, the whole of Ireland wept,” with another echoing: “Waiting for the entire Irish community to comment.”

Ongoing criticism of cooking technique

The quality of a Guinness pour is a hotly debated topic online, with opacity and a sharp line between the head and body considered markers of a good pint, and an entire Instagram page dedicated to “S*** London Guinness.”

Brooklyn, who has appeared on cooking segments on TV shows like Today and released his own range of hot sauces, has frequently come under fire for his cooking technique. Last year, he left followers perplexed after sharing a video making tomato pasta on a yacht, in which he cooked the pasta in water from the sea. He repeated the technique in another video earlier this month, leading fans to speculate that he had filmed the clip knowing it would infuriate viewers.

In the comment section beneath his most recent cookery video, which saw Brooklyn making a cottage pie, he reminded followers that he wasn't a trained chef. “I'm obviously not a professional chef haha x just love cooking and eating,” he wrote. “Also if anyone has noticed I LOVE making easy comfort food x my favourite.”
