Big Walk, the new co-op adventure from the creators of Untitled Goose Game, has become 2026's highest-rated game on Metacritic, with the PC version earning a score of 94. The game, released on Tuesday, August 4, is available for free to PS Plus subscribers as part of their membership.
Rave Reviews and Critical Acclaim
Critics have praised Big Walk as “deeply rewarding” and “unforgettable.” While the console versions (PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2) haven't scored as high as the PC edition, they've still generated significant excitement among players.
The game is a co-op multiplayer adventure where players solve puzzles together across a vast world. It relies on proximity chat for communication, adding a whimsical layer to the experience. Notably, there is no single-player mode; up to 12 players can join a single save.
Fan Reactions and Availability
Fans on Reddit have been effusive, with one saying, “It's one of the best co-op games if not the best one I've ever played.” Another praised its sound design, noting, “If you grab at a wall it makes a noise dependent upon the surface you're poking.”
Big Walk is included with PS Plus until September 1, or available to purchase for £15.99 on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo Switch 2 eShop.
