Security guards on the Glasgow set of The Batman: Part II are searching the filming area each night for Irn-Bru cans that locals are trying to sneak into the background of the blockbuster.
A post shared on X revealed that a social media user was told by security guards on set that they must search for the iconic Scottish drink every night. The post, which included an image of a snow-covered Gotham with police cars, was captioned: "Went to the Batman 2 set in Glasgow and one of the security people said that they have to search the set for Irn Bru cans every night. The locals are trying to sneak one into the film and they keep popping up in the bins and hot dog stands."
Scots traces on set
Other traces of Scotland have been found on set, with one user replying that they had found a sticker of comedian Daft Limmy on an outside building.
Scots in the comments were amused by the revelation, joking that traffic cones would be next. One wrote: "Typical Glesga folk! No doubt try and sneak traffic cones somewhere, too!" Another added: "The irn bru cans are a decoy so that traffic cones can be placed on statues."

A third replied: "That has genuinely made my day. Brilliant", along with laughing face emojis. Someone else remarked: "This has to be the most Scottish thing I've heard in a while." A fifth chimed in: "Irn-Bru. Made in Gotham. From Girders."
The 2028 blockbuster starring Robert Pattinson and Scarlett Johansson is being filmed in the city over the next month. Directed by Matt Reeves, the movie is the follow-up to the 2022 film The Batman, which took more than 772 million US dollars (£570 million) at the global box office. It is due to be released in cinemas on February 18 2028.
Glasgow has previously doubled as Gotham in Christopher Nolan's 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, The Batman (2022) and The Flash (2023).
