Apex Legends fans can look forward to a new in-game event called Ascended Hunt, which launches on August 18 and runs until September 8. The event, developed by Respawn and published by EA, introduces Gibraltar's Apex Bruddah Prestige Skin and a range of EVO Enhancing Wild Cards that players can power up to gain gameplay advantages.
Event schedule and rewards
The Ascended Hunt event begins at 5pm BST on August 18 and concludes at the same time on September 8, giving players three weeks to unlock rewards. According to Respawn, the event's theme revolves around claiming the power of the gods, with EVO Enhancing Wild Cards that can be evolved to enhance specific gameplay quirks and abilities.
These powers provide additional speed, superior combat skills, and increased resilience. The official description reads: "Ancient power from beyond the Outlands has reached into the Arena, blessing the Legends with gifts from the gods. Claim them to move with supernatural speed, steal enemy health, and tear through opponents. With every fight your power grows, until you rise as the ultimate hunter in Wildcard."
EVO Enhancing Wild Cards explained
Examples of the EVO Enhancing Wild Cards include 'EVO Enhancing Hipfire' to tighten hipfire spread, 'EVO Enhancing Crits' to raise crit chance, 'EVO Enhancing Shield Regen' for boosted shield regeneration, 'Enhanced Lifesteal' to grow lifesteal percentage, 'Enhanced Mantle Boosts' for higher and farther launches, and 'EVO Enhancing Slide Boosts' for sliding further and faster.
Respawn notes that more Wildcard slots will open as the battle progresses, allowing players to build a powerful loadout for the final circle.
