Ricky Gervais's latest Netflix project, the adult animated sitcom Alley Cats, is now streaming on the platform as of today (August 7). All six episodes, each under 20 minutes, became accessible from 8am local time on the day of release.
What is Alley Cats about?
The series follows a group of feral British cats from different social backgrounds as they seek companionship and discuss life's absurdities. Gervais has described the show as 'like Only Fools and Horses mixed with four legs bad, two legs good', adding that the characters are always 'rallying against a cruel world'.
Who is involved?
Gervais serves as creator, lead voice actor, and co-director alongside Elliot Dear, who previously worked on Netflix's Love, Death + Robots. The voice cast reunites several of Gervais's former co-stars from After Life and Derek, including Kerry Godliman, Tom Basden, Diane Morgan, Tony Way, and David Earl. EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy also features.
