Vanessa Williams announces first UK tour with Gateshead date

Vanessa Williams has announced her first ever UK concert tour, which will include a date at The Glasshouse in Gateshead on February 19, 2027. The singer and actress revealed the dates earlier this week after teasing fans with a big announcement.

Chart-topping career

Williams topped the US charts in 1992 with her most famous single, 'Save The Best for Last'. The song also reached the top 5 in the UK top 40 and later became associated with the Bisto gravy adverts.

Now 63, Williams has enjoyed a varied showbiz career. She appeared on the soundtrack to Disney's Pocahontas and played magazine editor Wilhelmina Slater in the TV series Ugly Betty, which brought her to new audiences worldwide.

West End success

For the last few years, Williams has been playing Miranda Priestley in the West End production of The Devil Wears Prada. She has earned rave reviews for her performances at London's Dominion Theatre.

Williams will leave The Devil Wears Prada in September but has already announced her return to the spotlight with the 2027 tour.

Tour dates and tickets

The tour kicks off in Glasgow on February 18 at the Royal Concert Hall and ends at the Dominion Theatre in London on February 28. General sale began on Thursday, with tickets available from the Glasshouse website, priced from £37 to £60.80.
