Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this Saturday for its first live show of the series, with 15 celebrities performing for the first time. The BBC has revealed the dances and song choices for the opening night.
First live show details
The live show will be hosted by Emma Willis, Josh Widdecombe, and Johannes Radebe, who took over from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Last week's launch episode marked their debut in the roles. Josh described hosting the first episode as the "most brilliantly terrifying thing I've done."
The show will open with a group number from the hosts, professionals, and judges set to an orchestral version of Joy by Raye.
Dances and songs for the celebrities
EastEnders actress Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola will perform a cha cha to How Will I Know by Whitney Houston. Other performances include Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu doing a quickstep to Stop This Flame by Celeste, Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington dancing a samba to Baiana by Barbatuques, and Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu taking on a tango to I Feel Love by Donna Summer.
Melanie Walters and Aljaz Skorjanec will dance a cha cha to Don't Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee, while Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon have a quickstep to C'est Magnifique by Kay Starr. Olympian Tabby Stoecker and Mark Karmalita will do a jive to Animal by Katseye, and Love Island winner Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby a quickstep to I Just Might by Bruno Mars.
Other numbers include a tango to No Roots by Alice Merton from Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden, a cha cha to Hound Dog from Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley, a foxtrot to Ordinary by Alex Warren from John Nellis and Katya Jones, a paso doble to Aperture by Harry Styles from Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystal, and a cha cha to Lil Boo Thang by Paul Russell from Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr. Dani Dyer-Bowen will perform a samba with Nikita Kuzmin, and Will Best and Dianne Buswell will also dance a samba to Rock DJ by Robbie Williams.
Hosts on their new roles
Josh Widdicombe said there are "no egos" on the new hosting line-up, describing the trio as a team where everyone's personalities gel. Johannes Radebe praised his co-hosts for being "both completely themselves," while Emma Willis called them "down to earth, humble, funny, lovely guys."
Strictly Come Dancing's first live show airs on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
