The Restricted Forest Festival is set to return to Orrell Hill Woods in Hightown, near Formby, bringing thousands of partygoers to the Merseyside woodland. The modern electronic music festival, which began in the early 2020s as a small grassroots woodland rave organized by local promoters, has grown into a large annual event with multiple stages, professional production, and thousands of attendees.
Nostalgic DJs Headlining
Best known for its celebration of 90s and 2000s dance music, including house, trance, clubland, and bounce, the festival continues this theme in 2026 with a lineup of well-known UK DJs and dance acts. Artists set to perform include Darren Styles, Ultrabeat, Todd Terry, K-Klass, Special D, Micky Modelle, Ellie Sax, N-Force, The Blackout Crew, Angel, and Rob Cain.
Event Details
Taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1pm to 11pm, organizers are promising the festival’s “biggest and most ambitious” edition yet. The event features a jungle-inspired theme with multiple unique woodland stages, including a rugged main stage, a pyramid-style structure with artwork, and a castle-themed area. Large-scale installations such as animal sculptures enhance the immersive experience.
Food and drink vendors will be positioned throughout the site. Tickets are available online, with some expected on the door. Coach travel is offered from major cities via Big Green Coach. The event is strictly for attendees aged 18 and over, with last entry at 4pm.
