Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson made a surprise appearance at Reading and Leeds Festival on Friday, joining indie band The Kooks on stage for an unexpected performance. The 45-year-old star performed Coolio's 1995 hit 'Gangsta's Paradise' with the band, leaving fans stunned.
The Kooks' frontman Luke Pritchard introduced Wilson as 'the incredible, the unbelievable, the hugely successful, famous, beautiful popstar, Tazzie Young', referencing her character from the film 'Pitch Perfect'. Wilson sang the rap sections of the track while Pritchard handled the chorus.
Pritchard explained that the band are 'huge fans of Rebel' and that she wanted to come and watch them. When asked which song she wanted to perform, she chose 'Gangsta's Paradise' as it was the only one she knew all the words to. The performance ended with Wilson spraying champagne over the crowd.
The Kooks shared the moment on Instagram, calling it 'truly unforgettable'. Fans reacted with excitement on social media, with one describing it as 'a fever dream in the best way possible'. This marks the band's third appearance at the festival, which continues until August 23 with headliners including Travis Scott and Hozier.
